"Fashion for Everyone - Sewing & Fashion Workshop"
Explore sewing, fashion, and textile arts in a creative, supportive studio environment! This open-format class gives participants the freedom to work on projects that interest them while building sewing skills, experimenting with materials, and learning from one another.
Participants can bring their own project or choose something to create in the studio. Practice using a sewing machine, learn garment construction, try draping fabric on a mannequin, choose a pattern and make something new, repair or upcycle clothing, experiment with textile art, or create something special for an upcoming event or costume.
The studio encourages creativity, independence, collaboration, and responsible use of shared materials. Participants will also learn how to care for sewing equipment, organize their workspace, and contribute to keeping the studio welcoming and functional for everyone.
Project possibilities include:
-
Sewing from a pattern
-
Designing and constructing clothing
-
Alterations, repairs, and upcycling
-
Draping and fashion design
-
Costumes and special-event pieces
-
Textile art using fabric, paint, embellishments, and other materials
-
Learning or practicing sewing machine skills
-
Working alongside and helping other sewists
Whether you're starting your first sewing project or already have experience and want a place to create, this is an opportunity to learn, experiment, make, and build your skills at your own pace.
No project is required for the first class. Come with an idea, bring something you're already working on, or simply come ready to explore what you can create.
