Cameron Wright I am a native-born Oregonian and a bassist. I play upright, electric and acoustic bass and I enjoy performing a wide range of styles including bluegrass, chamber music, symphonic and orchestral works, with a little metal mixed in. My love for music started at a young age with the trumpet and French horn. As a teenager, I discovered the bass, which set me on a different musical path. In 2010, I enrolled at Central Oregon Community College, where I studied music for two years under Michael Gesme, Director of the Music Program. During that time, I focused on musicianship, music theory, and music history, while studying bass, cello, piano, and voice. After completing my studies at COCC, I transferred to Eastern Oregon University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Music under Leandro Espinosa, Director of Music. While at EOU, I continued expanding my musical skills, adding drums, djembe, and piano, with an emphasis on bass studies. I also gained orchestral performance experience with the Grande Ronde Symphony. I currently reside in Prairie City, Oregon, and teach private music lessons. |
