Sewing 101
Learn the basics of sewing in this beginner-friendly class designed to build confidence and foundational skills. Students will be introduced to essential techniques including machine setup, stitching, seam construction, and fabric handling.
Choose between two practical projects: a simple apron, or a pot holder to create a finished piece you can use every day. This class is perfect for those new to sewing or anyone looking for a refresher in a supportive, hands-on environment.
All supplies are provided. No experience needed.
Ages: 10+ with Adult

By registering for classes or programs at Painted Sky Center for the Arts, participants acknowledge and agree that photographs, video, or other media may be taken during classes, events, or activities.
Participants grant Painted Sky Center for the Arts permission to use images of their artwork and/or likeness for marketing, promotional materials, social media, website content, and other organizational communications, without compensation or further notice.
If a participant prefers not to be photographed or recorded, they must notify Painted Sky Center for the Arts in writing prior to the start of the class or event.

Participation in classes involves the use of art tools and materials. By enrolling, participants acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with studio activities and agree to follow all safety instructions. Painted Sky Center for the Arts is not responsible for injuries resulting from failure to follow provided guidelines. Adult supervision is required for youth participants as specified by class policies.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans change! Here's how cancellations are handled at Painted Sky:

Teacher Cancellations: If a teacher needs to cancel a class at any time, we will issue a full refund to all registered students.

Student Cancellations: Students may cancel up to one week prior to the class and receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than a week in advance are non-refundable.
Our instructors put a great deal of time and care into preparing materials and lessons, so we appreciate your understanding.

Lynda Leavitt brings decades of sewing experience and a lifelong passion for sewing to the classroom!
Over the years, she has worked with a wide range of projects, developing a deep understanding of both practical techniques and creative design.
Lynda enjoys sharing her knowledge with others and helping students feel confident at the sewing machine, whether they are just getting started or looking to strengthen their skills. Her patient, approachable teaching style creates a welcoming space for learning and creativity.
