Mommy & Me Hand Trinket Dish

A simple, clever, and practical spin on the classic "Child's Handprint"! Parent and child will each be given a slab of clay to trace their hand onto and then decorate with names, dates, stamps, and textures of their choosing. Add feet and a bit of shaping and voila, an adorable trinket dish of your loved one's hand! Students will return on the second class and add color to their hand dish, then can return in a few weeks to pick up their pieces.

Ages 4 and up with an adult

Thanks to a generous grant from LCHP (Local Community Health Partnership) and EOCCO (Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization), almost all of our classes during the month of August will be completely free of cost!

About your teacher

After being introduced to pottery in high school, I pursued my interest in ceramic arts at Bennington College in Vermont, a school with a deep history in ceramic where I received my B.A. in ceramics. During that time, I also worked in a ceramics factory underglazing literally hundreds of pots a day! I also interned at the Capitol Children’s Museum in Washington D.C. and created a ceramic studio and program. I began teaching hand building and wheel thrown pottery at Painted Sky in 2022 and am continually inspired by the Art Center’s amazing community!
