Christmas In Artober!
Join us this October for "Christmas In Artober", where creativity takes center stage! We're making it easy and fun to push your artistic boundaries with daily word prompts to inspire you. Plus, you'll get hands-on with four ceramic decorating techniques that you will be able to add to your "ceramic toolbelt" that will take your projects to the next level.
The Artober Challenge: Every day, you'll get a word prompt to spark your imagination. Use it to create something new and exciting!
Learn New Techniques: We'll teach you the ins and outs of four different surface decoration techniques to being your art to life.
What You'll Get: To help you get started, we'll provide 7 pre-made clay coasters or ornaments, multiple colors of underglaze, and a scratch tool - everything you need to bring your ideas to life.
How It Works: Join us in the studio for a lesson each Saturday. Get your daily prompts via text and work on your art at home. Bring your coasters and ornaments back to the studio the following Saturday to fire them, pick up more if you are continuing and learn the next technique, and collect all of your glazed and fired pieces in few weeks - just in time for stocking stuffers or to hang on the tree!
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans change! Here's how cancellations are handled at Painted Sky:
-
Teacher Cancellations: If a teacher needs to cancel a class at any time, we will issue a full refund to all registered students.
-
Student Cancellations: Students may cancel up to one week prior to the class and receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than a week in advance are non-refundable.
Our instructors put a great deal of time and care into preparing materials and lessons, so we appreciate your understanding.
About your teachers
Geneieve Paddock - After being introduced to pottery in high school, I pursued my interest in ceramic arts at Bennington College in Vermont, a school with a deep history in ceramic where I received my B.A. in ceramics. During that time, I also worked in a ceramics factory underglazing literally hundreds of pots a day! I also interned at the Capitol Children’s Museum in Washington D.C. and created a ceramic studio and program. I began teaching hand building and wheel thrown pottery at Painted Sky in 2022 and am continually inspired by the Art Center’s amazing community!
Rachel Carpenter - I am a lover of all things creative, and have always enjoyed exploring new art forms. When I was 8 years old, I fell in love with sewing. This soon branched into crochet, knitting and home decorating. Over the years I have dabbled in almost every area of art made available to me. In 2022 I took Genevieve Paddack's beginning pottery class at Painted Sky. I was hooked from the first day. I have spent the last few years exploring wheel throwing, hand building, carving and playing with all forms of adding texture to clay. I am eager to help others experience this new found hobby of mine.
