Prayers and Poems Platter

Prayers and poems. Each can hold a special place in our heart and can express something greater than the words themselves. Bring your favorite prayer or poem and memorialize it in your very own hand-built platter. We will be using very small alphabet letters to print into the clay, so don't bring too long of text and bring your readers if you need them! This is a two-part class with the "type-setting" part of the project to be done during student's week-long open studio time. Anticipate 20 words to be set in one hour. Please plan the size of your text and use of open studio time accordingly.

***Please email your prayer or poem to [email protected] so that it can be printed in the appropriate size font for your project.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change! Here's how cancellations are handled at Painted Sky:

  • Teacher Cancellations: If a teacher needs to cancel a class at any time, we will issue a full refund to all registered students.

  • Student Cancellations: Students may cancel up to one week prior to the class and receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than a week in advance are non-refundable.
Our instructors put a great deal of time and care into preparing materials and lessons, so we appreciate your understanding.

About your teacher

After being introduced to pottery in high school, I pursued my interest in ceramic arts at Bennington College in Vermont, a school with a deep history in ceramic where I received my B.A. in ceramics. During that time, I also worked in a ceramics factory underglazing literally hundreds of pots a day! I also interned at the Capitol Children’s Museum in Washington D.C. and created a ceramic studio and program. I began teaching hand building and wheel thrown pottery at Painted Sky in 2022 and am continually inspired by the Art Center’s amazing community!
