Leather Purse or Bag Strap

Discover the art of handcrafted leatherwork in this three-session series led by Leon. You’ll learn how to cut, tool, punch, stitch, and finish your own custom purse strap, complete with your personality and style. Whether you love a rustic look, bold colors, or a clean modern design, you’ll leave with a fully finished, durable strap you can use for years.

No prior experience needed-just curiosity and creativity.

Ages 10 and up allowed with adult/guardian supervision. Please contact us with any questions!

 

Leon Pielstick

About your teacher

Leon Pielstick started leathercraft and tooling at age 10. Made his first saddle with a Tandy Kit at age 14. He has made an abundance of belts and wallets and has mentored other leather workers in leather tooling and saddle making.

Leon attended OSU and graduated from Colorado State University Veterinary School. He was a practicing veterinarian in Burns until retirement and moved to John Day in 2017.
